Drop-in Language Hours

Come to our drop-in languages center to learn and practice your language skills in a collaborative, social environment. Our language tutors can help you master the grammar and pronunciation of the language you are learning, as well as provide helpful insights about relevant cultural differences across languages. The Languages team currently supports Arabic, ASL, Chinese, English (ESL), French, German, Greek, Japanese, Latin, Navajo, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish.

We also have a linguistics tutor who is available to support students taking linguistics courses (e.g., phonetics, phonology, grammatical analysis, morphosyntax, discourse analysis, etc.).

Additionally, we have a Classics tutor who can support students studying Classics, Latin, and Greek.

We offer drop-in language services in person, on the 3rd floor of Zimmerman library, as well as online via Zoom (service availability and hours vary for each language).

Students may also receive language support by attending conversation groups focused on the language they are studying or submitting written work to our Online Writing Lab (OWL).
