Branch Campuses

CTL group offers a wide range of support options to instructors across UNM. We offer a range of workshops on teaching and learning, a 6-week online course covering the ins and outs of teaching online, and we offer weekly Open Lab sessions for all faculty. Additionally, feel free to reach out if you are looking for consultations for yourself or your department on specific topics pertaining to teaching and learning at UNM. Lastly all instructors are invited to attend our events like the Get Set and Reset, as well as the Spring Teaching and Learning Conference.

Workshops

We offer a variety of workshops on different topics related to teaching and learning.  Many of our workshops are offered as webinars to provide access for branch instructors. Please see the Workshops Schedule for more details.

Evidence-Based Practices for Teaching Online

A minimum of five times per year, we offer the Evidence-Based Practices for Teaching Online course.  This is a 6-week course for instructors who are teaching online—open to all experience levels.  Instructors get a chance to experience an online course as a student (an invaluable experience) while learning more about Canvas and designing an effective online course. Visit the Workshops Schedule to see dates and register.

Open Labs

Open Labs are an opportunity to work one-on-one with an instructional designer and ask questions about teaching with Canvas. Instructional designers can be thought partners for your course design, pedagogical strategies, and assessment tools. Pre-registration is not required. To see a list of upcoming Open Lab sessions, please visit our Open Labs Schedule.

If you need immediate technical assistance, please reach out to Canvas Support or at (505) 277-0857. Canvas Support also maintains a helpful documentation website.
