Evidence-Based Practices for Teaching Online (EBPTO) Course Completion Certificate

This certificate is given to faculty, instructors, and graduate teaching assistants in recognition of their successful completion of the Evidence-Based Practices for Teaching Online (EBPTO) course offered by the Center for Digital Learning at the University of New Mexico.  This includes development of:

  1. A Course Map - employing Backward Design, participants create, revise, and flesh out a course map for a current or future online course.  This includes writing course and module objectives, identifying required materials, and planning assessments and deliverables.  The course map allows participants to create a blueprint for their course and demonstrate the alignment of their course goals, materials, and activities.
  2. An Online Teaching Portfolio - the culminating project of the course is to synthesize and compile the learning done in our course into an Online Teaching Portfolio.  Participants choose to do this in a variety of ways ranging from PDF files to Adobe Spark or Microsoft Sway presentations.  The portfolio includes the participant's revised course map, an activity, tool, or resource that they plan to include in their course, and their plan for student-to-student and student-to-instructor interaction.

For more information on the course, or to register for an upcoming session (open to instructors and graduate students at UNM), please visit Teaching and Learning Workshops.
